The Turbans are an American rock and roll band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed in 1955. They are best known for their hit single, "We Could Make Such Beautiful Music Together," which was a top 10 R&B hit for the band in 1956. The group was made up of founding members Harvey Godial, Al Banks, Denny Raven, and Ernie Williams. Their sound was a formative force in early rock and roll, blending doo-wop, R&B, and gospel influences into a unique sound that was incredibly popular at the time. Although the group disbanded in 1957, they left a lasting influence on Philadelphia doo-wop, influencing later vocal groups such as Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers. The Turbans' single "When You Dance" was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2000.
