Yundi is a Chinese pianist and composer who has been at the forefront of the classical music scene since the early 2000s. At the age of 10, he began to study under renowned pianist Dan Zhu and went on to study at the Central Conservatory of Music. His international career began in 2001 when he won 1st Prize at the XIV International Chopin Piano Competition. Since then, he has released several studio albums, performed acclaimed recitals with fellow classical musicians, and become the youngest pianist to ever tour with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Yundi continues to be highly sought after around the world and is a long-time member of the Deutsche Gramophon label. His discography includes both classical works by European masters and his own compositions, which often make use of traditional Chinese elements.
