Shangela, real name D.J. Pierce, is a drag performer, actor, and singer from Los Angeles, California. She first made an impact in the entertainment industry after her appearance as a surprise contestant on the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race. She went on to become the first queen to ever return to compete on the third season. After RuPaul's Drag Race, Shangela appeared as a drag mentor for the Logo reality television series, RuPaul's Drag U. Shangela's acting credits include the FX series Pose, A Star is Born, and Katy Perry's video for "Swish Swish." She has also made a name for herself by performing in sold out stand-up comedy shows across the United States and has had nominations for Grammy's, MTV and GLAAD Awards. Shangela is a nationally and internationally known artist, and her success within the drag scene continues to grow.
