Terry Riley tickets

Terry Riley is an American composer and musician and is one of the major innovators of the minimalist movement in music. His work is known for varying musical influences from European classical music to traditional Indian music. He is regarded for pioneering the use of tape loops to create long musical forms. Riley has released acoustic albums such as ‘Contemporary Music for Piano and Keyboards’ and ‘Tangerine Dream’ and received the 2009 William Schuman Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His works have been performed by ensembles such as the Kronos Quartet and the San Francisco Symphony. He is also known for his collaborations with jazz composer Mike Patton and has released the joint studio album ‘As Shadows Are banished by Light’.
