Jana Rush tickets

Jana Rush is an experimental footwork music artist based in Chicago, Illinois. She is renowned both nationally and internationally for her pioneering work with footwork dance music, a fast paced style of hip hop and electronic music born out of the city's South Side. Rush first burst onto the street dance and music scene in the late 2000s with a number of self-released records which gained attention in both the underground and mainstream hip hop circles. Since then, her career has seen her release numerous acclaimed works on labels like PlanetMu and Hyperdub. Rush also collaborates with other creatives, from dancers and producers, to video directors and visual artists. Her sound, which blends classic hip hop and R&B with elements of techno, breaks, and grime, has been praised for its innovative approach to genre typing. Rush continues to push the boundaries of footwork today, pushing the genre into increasingly radical, and exciting territories.
