Maxwell is a Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter and producer. He initially rose to fame in the late 1990s with his debut album, Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite, which established him as a neo soul icon. He achieved critical and commercial success with his follow-up albums Embrya and Now, and solidified his place among the top R&B artists of his time. His influence represents a bridge between classic soul music and neo soul and contemporary R&B functions. Maxwell has released six more albums, with his most recent, blackSUMMERS'night – out in 2016 – garnering him his third Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. His numerous Grammy nominations, popular live shows, and collaborations with many other big-name stars have allowed Maxwell to amass a worldwide fan base.
