The Pet Shop Boys are an English synth-pop duo made up of singer Neil Tennant and musician Chris Lowe. They achieved success in the mid 1980s and have become one of the most commercially successful and influential groups in British pop history. Their first album, “Please”, was released in 1986 and was met with critical acclaim and commercial success, topping the UK Albums Chart and selling over three million copies worldwide. Since then, the duo have released a further ten studio albums, as well as various compilations. They have released 36 singles - including 17 UK top ten hits - and have worked with numerous other artists, including Liza Minelli, Madonna, David Bowie, Coldplay, and Robbie Williams. They are known for their unique and groundbreaking music that blends electro, pop, and dance styles. They have been nominated for numerous awards, including five Brit Awards, and have even been recognized by the Queen with an Order of the British Empire.
