Wata Igarashi is a Japanese minimalist techno artist who has been making music since the mid-2000s. He's a member of The Bunker NY crew and looks to create music that combines the furthest reaches of ambient and melodic techno. His music is inspired by the nostalgic sounds of Japanese culture, seeking to take a melancholic approach to techno. Igarashi has released a range of recordings on labels including Midgar, Die Schachtel and Mule Musiq, and has performed at Festivals such as Unsound, CTM and MUTEK. His 2019 album titled "Sun Path" was released via Deeply Rooted, and was widely acclaimed, resulting in some of his highest praise yet. He continues to produce a unique, atmospheric style of techno and remains a highly respected artist within the electronic music world.
