Moritz von Oswald is a German producer, DJ, and composer. He is renowned for bridging the gap between techno, dub, and jazz, with a cutting edge experimental sound. He began his career in the late 1980s as a member of the duo Monobox and then moved on to form the Berlin-based duo Maurizio with producer Mark Ernestus in the late 1990s. Von Oswald is credited as a pioneer of dub techno, and was a central figure in the development of the pioneering label Basic Channel. He is also credited with the creation of techno-dub hybrid musics under the Rhythm & Sound moniker in collaboration with partner Mark Ernestus. His discography is vast, including numerous appreciated releases in the German minimal, techno, house music, and jazz scenes.
