Alex Lloyd is an Australian singer-songwriter born in 1976 and based in Sydney. He released his debut solo album in 1998, titled Black the Sun, and gained mainstream success with his following albums. His fourth album, Watching Angels Mend, reached number 5 on the ARIA Album Chart in 2002. Since then, he has released six other studio albums and toured heavily around Australia and Europe. He is also a respected live performer, having opened for major acts such as Coldplay, U2, and John Mayer. In addition to commercially successful albums, Alex has won two ARIA awards for best male artist, and in 2006 he was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
