Baikal is an indie folk-pop artist from St. Petersburg, Russia, whose work is loosely rooted in Russian romanticism. Originally starting out as an acoustic guitar singer-songwriter, he soon grew a significant audience in Russia once he or joined a band in 2011. His debut album, “Padokhina”, was released in 2012 and brought him a lot of attention from local radio stations. The following year, he released two EPs and a single from his second album titled “Oh Love”. This album saw Baikal expanding into more electronic-folk genres while still maintaining charm. His next two albums “Spring of Sorrow” and “Loneliness”, explored more experimental sounds, while also gaining him international recognition.
