BLACKSTARKIDS is an indie rap duo from Oakland, California, consisting of MC Problem and DJ/Producer BlackJack. The two first started working together in 2006 and released their first single, "My Town," in 2007. They have since dropped two studio albums, ‘underwater’ in 2009 and ‘F8THFUL’ in 2013. BLACKSTARKIDS are best known for fusing E.D.M. with hip-hop to create their own unique sound. Problem's lyrics explore the realities of Oakland's tough streets, as well as social justice issues. Their songs have been featured on shows like ‘The Boondocks’ and they have garnered praise from publications like Allhiphop.com and HiphopDX. Known for their high-energy live shows, BLACKSTARKIDS continue to tour, perform, and record new music.
