Calle 13 is a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo composed of two stepbrothers, René "Residente" and Eduardo "Visitante". Formed in 2004, the duo is known for their politically and socially conscious lyrics which span a variety of genres such as reggaeton, reggae, hip hop, and Latin American styles. In 2006, they released their self-titled studio album which won six Latin Grammy Awards, becoming the group with the most Latin Grammy Awards in history. They released four more studio albums following this in 2008, 2011, 2012, and 2015. Through their career, Calle 13 has won 26 Latin Grammy Awards and four Grammys. They became Latin Grammy Person of the Year in 2016. Calle 13 has been praised by critics for their socially and politically conscious lyrics which stand out from the genre of reggaeton.
