Cerrone is a French disco artist, composer, songwriter and record producer. He is an influential figure in the development of French house music and disco and is best known for his 1978 hit single "Supernature". Cerrone's career began in 1970s Paris as a session drummer for various artists including Chaka Khan, Alain Chamfort, and Odyssey. In 1976, he released his debut album Love In C Minor, a mix of funk, jazz, and disco, which became an international hit and sold over 10 million copies. He followed up with a string of successful albums and singles including "Give Me Love", "Je Suis Music", and "American Dream". His music continues to be popular today, being sampled by artists such as Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, and Jamie xx.
