Cro-Mags are an American hardcore punk band from New York City. Formed in 1982, they are widely recognized as one of the most influential hardcore punk bands in history. Their debut album, The Age of Quarrel, released in 1986, has been seen as a blueprint for the emergence of the hardcore punk, metalcore, and crossover thrash scenes of the late 1980s. Consisting of a revolving lineup of musicians, Cro-Mags have experienced a lengthy career throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, releasing eight studio albums and touring extensively worldwide. The band are still active to this day, with their most recent album In The Beginning released in 2014. Musically, their sound has evolved a great deal over the decades, from hardcore punk to heavy metal, but Cro-Mags still remain true to their hardcore roots.
