Curses is the musical project of Boston-based producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist Tyler Scurlock. Drawing on influences of darkwave, post punk and industrial, his evolving sound has been described as “atmospheric, emotive and captivating.” His debut album "Romantic Fiction" was released in 2018, followed by a 2018 tour of U.S. cities. Recently, Curses has continued to craft a unique style of danceable melodies, punctuated by heavy bass and mysterious lyrics. His style is a combination of traditional synthetic sounds and live instrumentation, featuring spoken vocals, orchestral elements, and high-energy synths. He has continued to gain popularity and has appeared on dance music segments and podcasts along with remixes of well known artists. Curses has shown slight movement into experimental pop and industrial techno in mainstream releases.
