Daniel Rossen is an American musician, singer, and songwriter from Brooklyn, NY. He is best known as the founder and frontman of the indie rock band Grizzly Bear, which he co-founded in 2002. He is also the founder of another indie rock band called Department of Eagles. Rossen's solo work, which mainly consists of folk and Americana, incorporates dreamy indie-pop and a wide range of acoustic instrumentation. He is highly acclaimed for his songwriting, production and guitar playing; he has been featured in Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitarists of all Time." In addition to his work with Grizzly Bear and Department of Eagles, Rossen has collaborated with musicians such as Christopher Bear of Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors' Dave Longstreth, and Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold.
