Erasure are an iconic, British synth-pop duo comprised of singer Andy Bell and keyboardist Vince Clarke. Formed in 1985, after Clarke left iconic band Depeche Mode, their combination of Clarke's memorable melodies, hooks, and Bell's powerful voice have shaped the sound of popular music of the 1980s and 90s. Widely popular, Erasure have released 16 studio albums over the years, been awarded three Brit Awards, received a Grammy nomination and accumulated 33 Top 20 hits. The duo had one of the most acclaimed songs of the 1990s, with their single ‘Always’, and have also released well-known hits such as ‘A Little Respect’ and ‘Stop!’. Through their unique music influenced by New Romanticism, Dance-Pop, Synth-Pop, Hi-NRG, Gospel, and House, Erasure have become a beloved institution in music.
