Fitz and the Tantrums is an American neo soul and indie pop band formed in 2008 in Los Angeles. The core members are Michael Fitzpatrick, singer Noelle Scaggs, James King, Joseph Karnes, Jeremy Ruzumna, and John Wicks. The band has released four studio albums, with their self-titled third album reaching number 14 on the US Billboard 200 and becoming their most successful album to date.

Throughout their career, the Fitz and the Tantrums have had two Grammy nominations and seven singles that charted in the US Billboard Hot 100, the highest placed being "HandClap" from the album "Fitz and the Tantrums" which peaked at number 8. The band has toured extensively over the years, opening for Maroon 5 and touring with Panic! at the Disco, and playing many music festivals, including Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Bonnaroo.
