Jawbreaker is an alternative punk rock group from San Francisco. Formed in the late 80s, the band consists of guitarists/vocalists Adam Pfahler and Blake Schwarzenbach, as well as bassist Chris Bauermeister. Their sound is often described as combining the melodic energy of pop-punk with the more aggressive intensity of hardcore punk.

A notable influence on Jawbreaker was the late 1970s punk rock scene in the Bay Area, and the band was part of a younger generation of American punk rockers, emerging in the late-1980s and early-1990s. Jawbreaker's first two studio albums, Unfun (1990) and Bivouac (1992), are widely considered to be the quintessential albums of the emo genre. The band released two more studio albums, 24 Hour Revenge Therapy (1994) and Dear You (1995), before disbanding in 1996.
