Julie Byrne is an American folk singer-songwriter from Buffalo, New York. Her music is intimate and dreamy, incorporating acoustic guitar, piano, and carefully crafted lyrics, reflecting on themes of love, mortality, and nature. Since 2012, when she released her first self-released cassette Music of Circles, Byrne has gained critical acclaim for her two studio albums, Rooms With Walls and Windows (2014) and Not Even Happiness (2017). She has toured all around the globe, supporting artists such as Paloma Faith and appearing at a plethora of festivals including Glastonbury, End of the Road, and Bumbershoot. She has also been featured multiple times on NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concerts. Her most recent project, Line of Light, is an impressive 4-part LP recorded over four months of late-night jam sessions in her own studio and apartments in the US.
