Leningrad is a Russian punk rock band known for their upbeat, rocker style and often sardonic lyrics. The band was formed in 1997 by Sergei Shnurov and Andrei Coporzev, and they have continued to produce music up until the present. Their music often acts as a commentary on social issues and has an exceptionally large repertoire, with over 200 songs covering a wide variety of topics.

They began to garner international attention in 2006, when their song “XXL” became a breakout hit in Russia, quickly reaching the top 10 on the country's charts. This song remains one of their most beloved anthems today. A few years later, the band surprised their fans with a more eclectic sound, including influences from traditional Russian music.
