Lil Ed is an American blues musician and singer hailing from Chicago, Illinois. He is best known as the leader of the blues band Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials. The group has been a fixture on the international blues scene since the late 1980s. Lil Ed has released two albums with Alligator Records, 1997's "Roughhousin" and 2003's "Chicken, Gravy & Biscuits", and the band has released seven albums of their own. His distinctive style blends classic soul and Chicago blues, with added influences from the Piedmont blues genre. Lil Ed's signature sound is driven by his own power-driven slide guitar work. His live performances are well-known for their high energy and enthusiastic crowd interaction.
