Lute is an American rapper hailing from North Carolina. He started music in 2011 and has put out three albums and multiple mixtapes since, all to critical acclaim. His latest release, West1996, Pt. 2, scored a 90/100 rating from Pitchfork and reached the number 1 spot on the iTunes rap chart. He has also collaborated with fellow North Carolinian artists J. Cole and DaBaby and has regular tours and performances around the country and sometimes the world. His music is heavily influenced by soul, jazz, and gospel, giving it a unique and modern sound. Lute remains an underground artist to this day but has gained a dedicated and loyal following since his humble beginnings.
