Formed in New York City in the late 90s, Metro Area was the project of producers Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani. The duo combined elements of disco, house, and Baltimore club music to create something completely unheard of at the time. Combining vintage sounds with a modern flair, Metro Area brought influence from the past and created something fresh and new. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2002, was an instant success that set the tone for the group’s career. This album was followed by 2017’s “Sphere of Influence”, which featured a version of their classic “Miura”. Metro Area have consistently remained a favorite among music fans both live and on record, and their impact on electronic music is undeniable.
