Moaning is an American post-punk/dreampop band from Los Angeles, formed in 2016. The trio, created by Sean Solomon, Pascal Stevenson, and Andrew MacKelvie, centers around lead vocalist and guitarist Solomon’s introspective lyrics. With their blend of honeyed melodies and fuzzed-out guitar noise, they have cultivated a sound that merges vintage UK post-punk and shoegaze aesthetics with contemporary garage rock energy. Their studio albums released thusfar include their self-titled debut in 2018, and Uneasy Laughter in 2020. They have toured around the world extensively in support of their albums and the collective music scenes in LA, Brooklyn, and London. Their music has been featured on critically acclaimed shows such as HBO’s Silicon Valley, and they have earned praise from such music publications as Pitchfork and Spin.
