One King Down was a hardcore punk and metalcore band from Boston, Massachusetts active between 1997 and 2004. They released two studio albums through Victory Records as well as an EP and several demos. Their sound was heavily influenced by '90s metalcore, blending hardcore punk and metal and experimenting with elements of rap and reggae. One King Down was particularly known for their politically-charged lyrics which commented on topics such as class divisions and organised religion. Though they briefly disbanded in 2001, they reunited in 2003 to knock out some more shows upon which they could release a live album. Ultimately the band went their separate ways and disbanded once more in 2004.
