Poi Dog Pondering is an alternative rock/folk rock band that formed in Hawaii in 1986. Led by singer/songwriter Frank Orrall, the band fuses rock, jazz, world music, and punk to create a unique and eclectic sound. Poi Dog Pondering began their career playing on the streets of Honolulu and rose to prominence in the early 90s with their debut album, Poi Dog Pondering. Their biggest hit was the 1990 single “Heart Like a Loaded Gun”. The band toured consistently throughout the 90s, appearing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and releasing several successful albums. They continued to tour and record throughout the 2000s, becoming a premiere touring act across the US. In 2016, they embarked on their 30th anniversary tour and released their tenth studio album, Wonderful Precious Energy.
