About Sheila E.
Sheila E. is an American singer, percussionist, songwriter, and actress, best known for her iconic work as a solo artist and with Prince. Originally a percussionist for The George Duke Band, she rose to prominence with her hit single “The Glamorous Life” from her 1984 debut album, which she co-produced with Prince. Sheila continued to record solo and perform around the world, collaborating with stars such as Beyoncé and Kanye West. She has performed with many orchestras and acts as a supportive musical ambassador, writing and producing music with up and coming artists, while also performing for President Obama. She is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
