Smoking Popes are an American rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1991. The band consists of brothers Josh and Eli Caterer, along with drummer Neil Hennessy. Their music blends pop-punk, emo, and rockabilly sounds, often in recognition of bands such as The Beatles, The Who, and Elvis Costello. The Smoking Popes began touring nationally in 1993, and released their debut studio album, Get Fired, in 1994. Since then, the band has released four full-length albums, and participated in major punk, pop and emo festivals such as Pop Disaster, Emo's, Vans Warped Tour and Bamboozle. On July 14, 2015, they released their first new studio album in nearly 15 years, titled Into the Agony.
