About Squire
Squire is an English synth-pop band formed in London in 1980. Led by vocalist/bassist Andrew John "Andy" Cousin, the group released several successful singles in the 1980s. These include "Going to the Top" and "One Way Love". The group earned a dedicated fan base and a reputation for energetic live performances. Squire's 1983 debut album, Paint It In, reached the UK top 40 and featured songs such as "Room 567", "The Bells" and "From the Hip". After a second album, 1985's Revolutionary Peace, the band undertook several personnel changes and their sound shifted towards a more darkly experimental sound. Their final album, 1985's Perfect Design, featured guest appearances from Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and was praised by critics. Squire disbanded in 1988, but reunited in 2017 to perform on BBC's 'Later with Jools Holland'.
