About Sunn O)))
Sunn O))) is an influential American experimental metal band formed by guitarists Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson in 1998. Originally, they focused on forming dark and slow-burning drone doom soundscapes. After signing to the Southern Lord record label in 2003, they began to incorporate harsh wall-of-sound production techniques, samples, and collaborations with other artists of various musical styles.
Over the years, Sunn O))) has released eight studio albums and four EPs. Their music has been described as a "surreal blend of minimalist drone, doom, black metal, post-rock, and ambient noise." They have collaborated with renowned artists such as Boris, Ulver, and Scott Walker, and they have been praised for their innovative and unorthodox approach to experimental metal.
