The Dresden Dolls are an American musical duo consisting of artist Amanda Palmer and musician Brian Viglione. Formed in the early 2000s, their music is described as a mix of punk cabaret and dark theatrics. They were popular standout artists in Boston's alternative music scene, and released their debut album of the same name in 2003. They've released a total of three albums, garnering critical acclaim for their boundary pushing sound. Their most popular release is their second album Yes, Virginia... which was certified gold and earned them an indie album of the year award in 2007. The pair has toured around the world and even collaborated with radiohead's thom yorke, as wells as brendan bernhard of the dead kennedys.
