About The Librarian
The Librarian is a Canadian indie-pop music project founded and fronted by songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Steve Awodey. His creative work is heavily influenced by his love of classic literature, which is reflected in his pseudonym and his music. The project's first two EPs, 'Grimoire' and 'A Russian Book of Folklore' were released independently in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
The Librarian's sound incorporates elements of dream-pop, folk and ambient electronica to create a sonic dream-scape of swirling textures and evocative melodies. Awodey's songwriting is often romantic and sparse, weaving together stories about adventure, heartbreak and mythology. His live performances are supported by a full band and provide an opportunity for him to explore each song in further depth.
