The band has been active in the music scene since 1997, originally under the name OCS. The constant factor throughout the band has been Dwyer who has continued to make cross-genre influenced music over the bands past 10+ albums. Thee Oh Sees style has seen them label as psych rock, noise rock, indie rock, punk rock and post-punk.
