Unknown Mortal Orchestra is the project of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ruban Nielson. After releasing their critically-acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2011, they have released a further four studio albums, as well as two EPs and a compilation of previous live recordings. Their music has explored a range of genre influences, from punk-inspired guitar riffs to smooth psychedelic harmonies, all tied together by Nielson's introspective and clever lyricism. The band has achieved global recognition for their unique and electrifying live performances, which have gained them an international following. Their fifth album 'Sex & Food' was released in 2018 to further critical acclaim, and their success shows no signs of slowing down.
