VIL, sometimes spelled V-I-L, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Originally an underground artist, he broke into the mainstream in 2019 with the release of the single "Free" that charted on the Billboard Hot 100. VIL followed up the success of "Free" with 2020 releases "Rain or Shine" and "Like I Do," both singles showing a more refined sound exemplifying his creative versatility. Through his music, VIL speaks on self-awareness and awareness of experiences and situations outside of his own. His acclaimed debut album "Aguacero" was released in 2021, featuring singles "Thrill" and "Oceans." In addition to his solo career, VIL has also been featured in collaborations with popular hip hop and R&B artists. His artistry has made him an aspiring voice in modern music and earned him a loyal fanbase.
