About Yamma Ensemble
Yamma Ensemble is an international music outfit performing and composing a variety of ethnic music and employing a range of instruments from around the world. The ensemble was founded by charismatic Mali singer and virtuoso Kanté Manfila and features musicians from diverse backgrounds.
The group's style of music takes influence from traditional African music such as griot, Mandinka, and Songhay as well as other West African styles like Coupé-Décalé and Makossa. It also features jazz elements, global beats, and synthesisers. Yamma Ensemble have a reputation for their energetic and highly engaging live performances which make for a completely immersive experience for audience members.
They have so far released four albums to critical and popular acclaim, gaining fans from all around the world. Their unique blend of traditional and global elements has earned them the praise of world music fans and critics, and they have gone on to perform at some of the biggest venues around the world.
