Alcatrazz is a heavy metal and hard rock band, founded in 1983 by ex-Rainbow vocalist Graham Bonnet. They are most known for their song "Island in the Sun" and their classic albums No Parole from Rock-n-Roll (1983) and Disturbing the Peace (1985). The lineup included Steve Vai on guitars in 1984, as well as future Warrant frontman Jani Lane and drummer Gary Shea (formerly of the Utopia). Despite their success, the band split up in 1987 and reunited in 2006 with new members. They released a third album, Born Innocent, in 2020 with Troy Patrick Farrell (Thick) on drums and Kurt James (Hirax) on guitar. Alcatrazz have toured extensively ever since, making them one of the most popular live bands on the heavy metal circuit.
