Alka Yagnik is an Indian playback singer with an extraordinary career proudcing music for over 35 years. She has recorded nearly seven thousand songs in multiple languages for the film industry, and has won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer seven times.

Apart from playback singing, she has also performed in numerous concerts, both India and abroad. She has appeared as a judge or anchor on several singing reality shows on various Indian television channels.

Alka Yagnik has been inducted into the prestigious U.S. based Asian Hall of Fame, and has been named as India's No. 1 Playback Singer. She has also been awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honor, for her contribution to the music industry.

Over the course of her illustrious career, she has won many other awards and recognitions, including several National Film Awards, five Filmfare Awards, four Screen Awards and four Star Dust Awards.
