Audra McDonald is a Tony Award-winning American singer and actress. She is one of the most celebrated and decorated stage performers in history. McDonald played the leading role of Dr. Naomi Bennett on the ABC drama series Private Practice, and is the star of Swimming with Sharks. She has had six consecutive Best Actress in a Musical Tony wins for Carousel, Ragtime, Master Class, A Raisin in the Sun, The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, and Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill. McDonald is the first person to win all four major theatre awards (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, and Theater World).
