About Block Party

Block Party is a British post-punk indie rock band that formed in Camden, England in 1999 and consists of five members: Kele Okereke, Russell Lissack, Matt Tong, Justin Harris and Gordon Moakes. The band has released five studio albums to date: Silent Alarm (2005), A Weekend in the City (2007), Intimacy (2008), Four (2012), and Hymns (2016). Block Party rose to fame in the UK in 2004, following the release of their debut single, "Banquet," which was later featured on their first album, Silent Alarm. The album went on to become the sixth best-selling album of the year and firmly established Block Party as one of the leading names in British post-punk and indie rock. The band has since continued to perform throughout the UK, Europe, and the US, and their music has been featured in a number of soundtracks including Sex and the City and The Chronicles of N
