Cajmere is an American electronic music artist who is best known as the founder of the influential dance music label Cajual Records. His career in the music industry began as a hip-hop DJ in Chicago in the early 80s. He then developed his skills in production and released several acid house and deep house records, beginning with the major hit "Coffeetalk" in 1989. Throughout the early 90s he released numerous 12-inch dance singles and remixes, cementing himself as a mainstay in the Chicago house scene. He continues to be an influential figure in the genre today, producing music under the aliases Green Velvet and Curbi. He continues to perform live and produce new records, having released several compilation albums over the years.
