GELD is an indie-rock project fronted by singer-songwriter Geoffrey O’Connor, often accompanied by a backing band. The music of GELD combines elements of psychedelic rock, new wave and early R&B with intricate melodies, jangly guitar and elegantly layered synth textures. Since their 2019 self-tiled debut album, the band have released a steady stream of stand-alone singles and EPs. Their most popular releases include the single ‘Technicolour’ and ‘Soft Dreams’ EP which reached number 4 on the Australian ARIA charts. They have performed at a diverse range of festivals including Strawberry Fields, Beyond the Valley, Dark Mofo and Meredith Music Festival. GELD has also toured extensively in Europe, the US and Asia. With two new albums planned for 2021, GELD's music has been steadily gaining an international fanbase with their unique mix of genre and sounds.
