GQ is an American R&B singer and songwriter from the South Bronx, New York. He's best known for his 1981 single, "Disco Nights (Rock-Freak)". GQ's career began in the late '70s with the release of his debut studio album, Standing Ovation, in 1977. Since then, he has released several albums and singles, and has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including P. Diddy, Chaka Khan, and Luther Vandross. GQ is still creating music today; he released an EP in 2019 titled It Must Be Love. He is also an influential figure in the world of R&B and Soul, and is a member of the pioneering vocal group, The Force MDs.
