Groover Washington was an American jazz-funk and Soul artist who was widely acclaimed and his music is considered some of the most revered in the genre. His career spanned for over 40 years until his passing in 1999. He started out as a jazz saxophonist in Philadelphia and gradually moved into mixing R&B and Soul with jazz elements. He put out the hit single "Mr Magic" in 1975, which heavily influenced the funk and disco music to follow. He then released a string of successful albums through the mid to late '70s, such as Feels So Good, which was a great success, reaching #1 on the Billboard Jazz charts.
