Huia is a singer/songwriter of Māori heritage from the small township of Pahiatua, New Zealand.

Her music reflects her upbringing, and she draws from the Sounds of her culture and ancestral teachings. Huia's music is an expression of her soul.

Since her debut album, Huia has stayed busy, releasing award-winning singles and her second album, Kia Hurihia. Her music is regularly streamed and has been used in a variety of television shows, movies, and documentaries, as well as becoming part of the school syllabus back in New Zealand.

Huia has also played various shows at music festivals all over the country, whilst touring with New Zealand’s top acts. In 2018, she was awarded the prestigious APRA Maioha Award for her song ‘Taku Kupu, Taku Katoa'.
