Illa J is an American rapper and producer from Detroit, Michigan. He is the younger brother of producer and rapper J Dilla, and is the co-founder of the musical group Yancey Boys. Illa J has released three studio albums and two collaborative albums, as well as a handful of EPs and singles. His debut solo album, "Illa J", was released in 2008 and included his hit single "Sounds Like Love". Over his career, Illa J has worked with a variety of artists, including Erykah Badu, Slum Village, Guilty Simpson, and Talib Kweli. He has also produced for artists such as Aloe Blacc and De La Soul. In 2017, Illa J was featured on the single "Take Care of U" from the album "Welcome to Los Santos" by The Alchemist & Oh No.
