Madlib is a multi-genre record producer, DJ and rapper hailing from Los Angeles, California. He's been in active in the music industry since the 90's and over this time he's garnered a devoted underground following with his groundbreaking work.

His music career began as one-half of the duo Madlib & Freddie Gibbs, who released their first album in 2004. Madlib's solo work includes genre-defying hip-hop, jazz-funk, abstract hip-hop, drum and bass, Brazilian music, and rap, among many other genre experiments. He's released a prolific 14 albums since his solo beginning in 2000, significantly contributing to various portions of the popular hip-hop landscape.
