Pete Thomas is an American musician and producer who is most associated as the longtime drummer for Elvis Costello & The Attractions. He has been performing with Elvis Costello since 1977, and has been a drummer on more than 25 of Costello's recordings. In 1992, he started a solo career, releasing his debut album Too Close to the Sun. In addition to his work with Costello, Thomas has played and recorded with numerous other musicians, including Paul McCartney, Morrissey, Neil Finn, Brian Setzer, Robert Plant, and Stephen Stills. He composed and produced the soundtrack for the 2004 motion picture The Last Shot, and has two Grammy Awards for his production work. Thomas is also credited with music-direction and arranging work for a range of different artists.
